Overview

Director, Proposal & Pursuit Strategy

We are looking for a Director of Pursuit Strategy to support our corporate efforts to lead and pursuit across all four sectors of business at Cordoba – Energy, Education-Facilities, Water, Transportation. In this position you will provide leadership and support on a variety of business development (BD) assignments, ranging from highly strategic proposals to the smaller proposals and qualification statements, while overseeing staff dedicated to pursuit strategy including graphic designers, writers, and editors. Members of the pursuit management team are expected to be self-starters who possess excellent oral and written communication skills, develop creative solutions for growth challenges, are team players ready to support one another, and have a vested interest in Cordoba’s success.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • (60%) Manages, mentors, and develops marketing, proposal, and graphics staff.
    • Assures adequate support for all offices and service groups and ensures equitable distribution of workload among the Sectors and staff.
    • Develops and implements marketing, pursuit, and proposal processes, systems, and policies along with sector leaders.
    • Coordinate and assist in preparing proposals of all sizes, by overseeing the work of the dedicated pursuit staff. Bears ultimate responsibility for quality of proposals and other deliverables.
    • Manages and monitors progress and adherence to proposal schedule.
    • Assist in the planning and development of presentations and interviews with sector leads.
    • Write, edit, tailor, and perform research for non-technical proposal sections and client account management documentation.
    • Utilize Adobe products (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) to create branded and graphically appealing BD projects and proposals.
  • (20%) Participates and plays an active role in marketing-related activities within the company and sector leads, including:
    • Participates in client service plan review meetings, strategy meetings, pursuit kick-off meetings, etc.
    • Participates in go/no go meetings and makes recommendations.
    • Presents at corporate level meetings and activities.
    • Participates in firm wide initiatives regarding marketing systems and processes; Participates in, and contributes to, development of company/sector strategic plans.
    • Responsible for overall implementation of marketing plans and strategies.  Works with company leadership to develop and execute strategic business plans, comprehensive marketing initiatives and client focused strategies. Maintains thorough working knowledge of mega projects, foundation and future foundation clients, and targeted clients, areas, and/or service lines.
  • (5%) Works with sector management team to analyze sales performance and make recommendations to enhance performance. Maintains a working knowledge of sales goals, KPIs, lessons-learned, resources, forecasting, and marketing budgets.. 
  • (5%) Support with sector strategies related to Marketing/Business Development. Understands sector performance relative to goals and budgets, and the interface with goals of the firm.
  • (10%) Supervisions of staff including all related management of administrative requirements.

Qualifications

Education/Qualifications/Skills:

  • BS/BA degree in Communications, Marketing, or another related field
  • 12+ years’ experience, including managing large, complex A/E/C proposals and pursuit teams, and industry experience to include competitor analysis.
  • Experience managing and leading a proposal team efficiently and effectively.
  • Experience with Marketing/Business Development and ability to support sector strategies.
  • Excellent verbal communication/presentation and writing skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with a range of professionals.
  • Ability to assess problems and implement solutions.
  • Ability to work on team projects and handle several assignments simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint and Office products.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Adobe products (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) for proposal efforts.
  • Strong focus on details and clear, concise writing
  • Strong focus in developing and implementing Quality Control and Assurance related to final submittals.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in organizational, time management skills, and ability to multi-task high priorities.

 Travel

  • Minimal Travel Requirements (Assume 2 times a month to Cordoba offices)
  • Cordoba will reimburse for travel expenses.

 

Work Location: Remote Work

Salary Range: $145k to $210K per year.
