Office Engineer - Transporation

 

The Office Engineer will provide technical assistance for mega civil infrastructure projects, working with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders for the development of drawings, specifications, budgets, and construction documents and the construction of civil infrastructure. The Office Engineer will receive, organize, route for review, and substantiate reports and documentation. Successful candidates will the ability to be flexible and adaptable to handle a variety of assigned tasks and workloads is required. The candidate shall be able to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Responsibilities

Specific Duties

  • Review and coordinate plans, specifications, and cost estimates; update design plans that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and client
  • Work as an individual or as part of a cross-functional team of engineers, architects, planners, and scientific professionals to execute project work
  • Review and analyze data such as tables, charts, reports, renderings, calculations, and 2D/3D illustrations
  • Quality management
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations
  • Conduct research to gain further information on a particular design and construction issue and to assess feasibility, environmental impact, and action plans for risk mitigation activities
  • Comply with regulatory requirements pertaining to data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring systems, and record compliance and retention
  • Receive, review, record, and route pay applications and progress/milestone reports
  • Support ad hoc functions as requested

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience performing similar work
  • EIT or similar training, license, certification
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to manage deliverables
  • Ability to interface with clients
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems

Preferred Qualifications

  • P.E. license
  • 7+ years’ experience performing similar work
  • Experience in heavy civil engineering projects with federal funding
  • Knowledge of alternative delivery methods

 

Required Knowledge

  • Proficient with Microsoft Products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, Project
  • Experience with design software
  • Experience with planning, drawing standards, design, and construction management
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, practices, process, and their application to project work-related issues

Salary Range: $125 to $145k per year

Location: San Jose, CA - Five days a week in the office
