Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading civil engineering firm based in California. We are growing and looking for talented Design Engineers to join our Gas team. Working primarily in the capacity of Cathodic “Design Engineer” supporting Cathodic Protection, Metering Instrumentation & Controls, Stations-Facility and Pipeline projects. In this dynamic position, the candidate will be reporting directly to a Cordoba Project Manager & Engineer Team along with supporting the Cordoba Design group with overflow projects. Desirable traits include attention to details, excellent work ethic, emphasis on quality control, and Willing to Learn and Grow with Project Team. Applicant expected to have a good understanding of piping design and equipment layouts.

Responsibilities

AutoCAD Plant 3D CAD Design / Civil 3D Design:

  • Prepares working drawings using computer-assisted design (CAD) from rough sketches, verbal instructions, and engineering data (approved drawing templates, previous drawings, and drawings from clients) considering the agreed project schedule.
  • Front end design-engineering, substructure research/identification, detailed design, quality assurance review, construction support, As-built drawings.
  • Piping plans and conduit routing plans and foundation design drawings as directed by the Project Manager and/or Project Engineer team.
  • Work with Survey Files - Import, Identify Coordinate Points within Civil 3D.
  • Create bill of materials for utility design plans.
  • Provide general notes per supervisor’s instructions without grammatical errors.
  • Must be diligent to constantly seek improvement of drafting skills through self-study.

Engineering Support:

  • Support the initial pre-planning efforts, engineering/design stages, construction support, execution stages and closeout efforts.
  • Coordinate with the project team, including Utility Managers and Technical Supervisors, Field Engineering Representatives, and other departments, subcontractors, and organizations to complete the assigned projects.
  • Field verify existing conditions and create utility design sketches in the field.
  • Work with Land Survey Files/GIS/Maps/Record Drawings, work order sketches, CP facilities, understand gas/electric materials and CP equipment.
  • Interface with the client and the project team to complete the assigned work within schedule and budget hours.
  • Attend meetings with Cordoba Project Manager/Engineers, Client, Vendors and Governing agencies as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical engineering or related field required.
  • 1-3 years of experience related to Utilities-Gas & Electric scope of work (Design/Engineering) required.
  • Advanced computer skills and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Plant3D.
  • Good problem-solving, decision-making, communication, analytical and human relations skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a large team and work independently.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible.
  • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills.
  • Proficiency utilizing knowledge and skills with MS Office Suite (including MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PPT, MS-Project, MS-Outlook) and computer applications is mandatory for this position.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible.
  • A high level of personal integrity and a strong work ethic are required.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
  • Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical, including a drug screening and background check, is required.

Preferred

  • Utility design experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk BIM 360 & Bluebeam Revu experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training.

 

Salary Range: $55,000 to $75,000 per year. 

Work Location: Hybrid 1 day per week in one of the 8 Cordoba Corporation office locations or remote.
