Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading civil engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking a Quality Control Manager for our Energy - Gas sector. The Quality Control (QC) Manager’s responsibilities comprise broad facets of the energy project implementation including project management and construction management. Daily on-site responsibilities include quality control, safety, construction oversight and project coordination. This position is the primary person responsible for quality control on a day-to-day “production” level. The QC Manager will be responsible for all quality control activities and assist in commissioning activities to assure final performance meets design intent.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all quality control activities, assist in commissioning activities, and maintain all Construction Quality Control (CQC) documents / logs.
  • Ensure all requirements of the Contractor Quality Control Plan are implemented and complied with and act as a field liaison between the government and the contractor.
  • Review all project drawings and specifications for completeness, accuracy, and conformance concerning quality control, commissioning, submittals, training, documentation requirements, and RFIs.
  • Verify all equipment has been installed as specified on the design drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Attend QC Meetings on a weekly basis and maintain weekly meeting minutes with updates and discussions toward project development and implementation prior to the meetings.
  • Perform daily site visits during construction to assess progress and site visitations performed as necessary to complete pre-testing and performance tests required as the work progresses.
  • Monitor the quality of work of team members and personnel communicating policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to subordinates.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, technical guidance, training and developmental opportunities to personnel.
  • Provide a daily Constructability Review via written reports of work progress, conflicts, or discrepancies from the scope of work discovered between plans and specifications and ongoing construction.
  • Maintain testing logs, rework items list, daily contractor production report, QC report and construction deficiencies report (punch list).

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project and construction management experience with energy related projects in different stages of construction is required
  • 5+ years of quality control management experience is required
  • 5+ years of field experience as construction consultant working with general contractors and subcontractors is required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with routine document control management
  • Ability to communicate mission, objectives and safety philosophy in decision making and supervising the work of others
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Good problem-solving, decision-making, communication, analytical and human relations skills required
  • Advanced written and verbal English language communication skills
  • High level of personal integrity and a strong work ethic

 

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 per year

 

Work Location: On-site at the project site in Ventura, CA

 

Visa Sponsorship: Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
