Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading civil engineering and design firm based in California is seeking experienced Project Managers (Level II) to help manage County Capital Improvement projects in the Parks, Probation, and General Projects Section.

Candidates are required to have experience in project managing vertical construction and public sector building projects through planning, design, jurisdictional approvals, bidding, contract awarding, construction, and close-out. This role is 100 percent onsite in Los Angeles, California. 

Responsibilities

  • Project planning and development.
  • Develop and control project scope.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets.
  • Develop and review project schedules.
  • Review and coordinate the preparation of construction documents.
  • Run the day-to-day management aspects of projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Facilitate project team and client meetings.
  • Negotiate and prepare change orders.
  • Monitor and coordinate construction activities with the various project stakeholders.
  • Respond effectively to project issues and challenges.
  • Recognize and elevate relevant project issues to superiors.
  • Set and manage project expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years (PM II) of project management and concurrent field construction experience.
  • Licensed professional or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
  • Education background in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience with County of Los Angeles Building Code and Standards.
  • Knowledge of Public Contracting Code and practices.
  • Strong leadership, excellent verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Work experience in project planning, development, master planning and feasibility studies.
  • Experience working in an operational facility including maintenance type work.
  • Ability to independently manage all aspects of a project.
  • Ability to develop and control project scope.
  • Ability to develop and maintain project budgets.
  • Ability to develop and review project schedules.
  • Skilled in reviewing and coordinating the preparation of construction documents.
  • Ability to run the day-to-day management aspects of projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate project team and client meetings.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and prepare change orders.
  • Ability to effectively monitor and coordinate construction activities with the various project stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively to project issues and challenges.
  • Effectively recognize and elevate relevant project issues to superiors.
  • Ability to set and manage project expectations.
  • Working on projects with multiple phases and construction contracts.

Experience in the following is highly desirable:

 

  • Design-Build and Progressive Design-Build project delivery.
  • CMAR project delivery.
  • Job Order Contracting (JOC) project delivery.
  • Los Angeles County Public Works protocols and procedures.

Salary Range: 140k to $160k per year.

Location: Los Angeles, California - 100 percent onsite.
