Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Gas sector. The Electrical Engineer will provide engineering and technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems. This role will support electrical engineering and design efforts for upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas projects including major capital infrastructure projects in the Southern California region. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer will support effective planning, organizing estimating, scheduling of work activities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches.
  • Responsible for assisting Electrical Engineers with project planning, managing schedules and budgets to complete work on time and profitably as well as play a major role in conceptualizing design of projects.
  • Support individual project workloads, deadlines, budgets, and requirements with the responsible electrical engineers; quality control review of responsible electrical engineer’s design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Apply organizational and management expertise to unique and complex projects and is able to effectively diagnose problems, prepare course of action, and implement the course of action to provide an appropriate solution or resolution of the problem.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and contracts by developing project approach, scope of services and budgets based on similar project experience and historical budgeting information; and by speaking at client interviews regarding project management issues.
  • Participate in the Construction Administration process including resolving field problems occurring during construction.
  • Maintain an accurate assessment of project status through effective communications with the Electrical staff, team leaders and Principals.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, vendors, internal project teams and interface directly with the client and internal management from multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel.
  • Follow and accept work rules and procedures.
  • Work as part of a team providing support to various sized transmission and distribution projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities.
  • Perform various power system calculations and load flow analysis.
  • Proposal development including scope, schedule and budget development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • 3-5 years of electrical engineering experience required
  • Understanding of SCADA, instrumentation, communications, and network engineering preferred
  • Experience with commissioning and/or field engineering time highly preferred
  • California Electrical PE License preferred
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) a plus
  • Proficient with Oil and Gas facilities and pipeline projects
  • Proficient with low voltage instrumentation and control systems
  • Ability to review and produce design drawings, including one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, conduit drawings, wiring diagrams, and control panel elevations
  • Capable of completing power load studies, and voltage drop calculations.
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
  • Ability to work in a high-paced team environment

Pay Range: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour

 

Work Location: Hybrid 3-4 days onsite in the Chatsworth, Ontario, Santa Ana or San Diego office

 

Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship

  

Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check
