Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading civil engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking a GIS Analyst to join our Gas team. The GIS Analyst will provide support for utility projects. The work scope typically includes support with gathering, analyzing, and integrating spatial data from internal teams and determining how best to present this information using GIS software with emphasis on safety, quality, detail work ethics, quality control, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain GIS applications, projects, and databases.
  • Support the initial pre-planning, planning stages, engineering/design stages, construction support, execution stages and closeout efforts.
  • Provide input to a team of Cordoba and Client PE and PMs and subcontract engineers and designers to with the use of GIS databases, tools, and applications.
  • Create presentation quality maps and complete complex geospatial analysis.
  • Integrate existing data from a variety of internal and external sources into the GIS database.
  • Develop and implement specific GIS tools to assist end users with daily mapping and analysis as needed.
  • Design, write, and maintain GIS workflow documentation.
  • Understand the emerging geospatial technologies and their application to improve company services.
  • Understand project scope, project delivery, cost, and schedules.
  • Ensure that the assigned projects are completed safely, producing a quality product that is in accordance with governing codes, agencies, and client requirements, as efficiently and effectively as possible.
  • Interface with the client and the project team to complete the assigned work within schedule and budget.
  • Support meetings with clients, subcontractors, vendors and governing agencies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of department and company goals. Identify and implement improvements in processes and operations to control costs and improve productivity.
  • Participate in special projects or tasks as required.
  • Report progress in achieving the required work scope to the client on a regular basis. Track and report schedule and budget status.
  • Initiate trends and submit change orders to the client when appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, or equivalent relevant professional experience is required
  • 3+ years of experience creating, maintaining and/or enhancing geographic information system data sets is required
  • Demonstratable working experience with ESRI Suite of Software; ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and mobile applications is required
  • Proficiency using the MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams
  • Advanced computer skills and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil is preferred
  • General understanding of utility design and construction
  • Good problem-solving, decision-making, communication, analytical and human relations skills required
  • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Must be adaptable and flexible
  • A high level of personal integrity and a strong work ethic

 

Salary Range: $26.00 - $36.00 per hour

 

Work Location: Hybrid 2-3 days per week in the Los Angeles, Santa Ana or Chatsworth office location and fielding to project sites within the Southern California area.

 

Visa Sponsorship: Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship.

 

Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check
