Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to support our Education & Facilities Sector. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of three years of professional experience in electrical design, specifically within public agencies, school construction, or large-scale capital commercial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provides electrical design work, coordinating with in-house staff as well as task order engineers.
  • Reviews construction drawings for compliance with District standards and mandated electrical codes.
  • Provides construction administration support for ongoing in-house projects.
  • Prepares electrical estimates for project budgets.
  • Prepares reports and Project Requirement Documents to help obtain funding for projects.
  • Assists Design Managers in defining electrical scope.
  • Assists in virtual DSA backcheck appointments.
  • Visits school sites to determine as-built conditions when as-built drawings are not available or are incorrect.
  • Assists and resolve electrical issues during construction when a subject expert is requested by Project Execution, to provide direction due to code compliance issues.
  • Coordinates with task order engineers and electrical service providers when project sites require power upgrade; provide guidance and approval of the design.
  • Assists Asset Management staff in clarifying and approving electrical scope for modernization projects.
  • Coordinates new code requirements with the Inspection Department and consults mandated standards to update District design guides.
  • Conducts research on code changes and identifies the implementation methods.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Three (3) years full-time paid professional electrical design experience in a public agency, school construction or large capital commercial projects OR valid certificate of registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration of Civil and Professional Engineers

Salary Range: $100,000 to $115,000 per year.

Work Environment: Onsite

Location: Los Angeles, California.
