Overview

Cordoba Corporation, a leading engineering, construction management, program management and design firm in CA is hiring a Lead Commissioning III. The role will lead the owner’s commissioning team, develop the commissioning program and lead commissioning staff. Participate as integral member of an owner’s program and construction management team, being directly responsible for commissioning multiple, interdependent projects of a large scale ($100m+ in value).  The Commissioning, III will work collaboratively with other elements of the owner’s team, including project managers, construction managers, project controls, and AOR staff to write, edit, execute, document commissioning activities and testing on assigned projects.  Review designer and contractor submittals and perform analysis as needed. Provide owner with summary of commissioning activities and forecast of future testing as needed. Engage in direct discussions with contractor to understand status of systems and schedule to include commissioning testing and closeout.

 

The Commissioning, III will lead the owner’s commissioning team, develop the commissioning program and lead commissioning staff, participate as integral member of an owner’s program and construction management team, being directly responsible for commissioning multiple, interdependent projects of a large scale ($100m+ in value), work collaboratively with other elements of the owner’s team, including project managers, construction managers, project controls, and AOR staff to write, edit, execute, document commissioning activities and testing on assigned projects.  

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with LAWA ADG project management staff, designers and contractors to identify when systems and equipment are fully functional in conformance with the contract documents
  • Develop and execute plans for the coordination of all commissioning activities of the Project and verify that the following items have been completed and delivered by the contractors. Should any of these be incomplete or in error of the contract documents, provide notification to the project team and contractor of such deficiencies.  Track all until 100% complete and accurate:
    • All Commissioning activities are complete and signed off/approved
    • Attic stock or spare parts requirements and develop a handover plan
    • Warranties
    • Operation and Maintenance Manuals
    • Training requirements and assist with development of a training plan and schedule
    • As-built documents and other deliverables required by the contract documents related to project close-out
  • Identify and work with end users to ensure participation in commissioning and training activities
  • Determine appropriate meetings for the Owner/End user to attend
  • Organize and conduct a routine close-out meeting
  • Assemble a team of key end users to coordinate delivery, identification, cataloging and storage of Attic Stock / Spares
  • Assemble a team of key end users to review training requirements, training schedules and O&M Manual Review
  • Direct the development of an Operations and Maintenance Roles and Responsibilities Matrix
  • Contribute to the advancement of ADG’s goals through commitment to productive collaboration with all stakeholders
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam is required

Qualifications

Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications

  • 15 years or more of commissioning experience with complex vertical construction projects. Demonstrated experience supporting the commissioning and operational readiness process
  • Past History of successful contract closeouts, preferably in the airport terminal environment
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complicated construction programs and the ability to communicate progress to both technical and management-level personnel
  • Must be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate complex issues to a non-technical audience
  • Must have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilities
  • Proven accuracy, reliability and completeness in job accomplishment
  • Demonstrated success on the job, as evidenced by satisfactory performance, acceptance of responsibility and growth in previous position
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized
  • Experience with Facility Grid or similar commissioning software
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • May assume other duties as required/needed
  • Maybe required to work past regular work shift
  • Maybe required to work various shifts as needed
  • Reports to TDIP Delivery Director

Preferred:

  • A four-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field is preferred
  • Qualified as a LEED Commissioning Authority (CxA) for complex vertical construction projects, Aviation preferred
  • Prolog experience is desirable

Salary: $180,000 - $210,000

Location: Los Angeles (LAX)

Work Environment: Onsite
