Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking a Materials Engineer with 2-5 years of Oil and Gas industry-specific experience in the utility pipeline sector. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the design, analysis, and execution of utility pipeline projects, contributing to the successful delivery of projects that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Engineering Design and Analysis:

  • Assist in the development and preparation of engineering designs, plans, and specifications for utility pipeline projects, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, analyses, and simulations to assess the performance, integrity, and feasibility of pipeline systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.

Project Coordination and Management:

  • Support project managers in coordinating project activities, resources, and schedules to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules, and monitor project progress and performance against established targets.
  • Participate in project meetings, workshops, and presentations to communicate engineering requirements, progress, and findings to project stakeholders.

Technical Documentation and Reporting:

  • Generate engineering calculations, analyses, and design documents to demonstrate compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports, drawings, and documentation to support project design, construction, and regulatory compliance.
  • Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of technical documentation to ensure quality and integrity of project deliverables.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and audits to identify and address potential issues, errors, and discrepancies in engineering designs and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in the design, construction, and operation of utility pipeline systems.
  • Implement corrective actions and revisions as needed to address identified issues and ensure the integrity and safety of project deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering or Civil Engineer required
  • 2-5 years of Oil and Gas industry experience in engineering, with a focus on utility pipeline projects required
  • Knowledge of utility pipeline systems, materials, construction methods, and applicable regulations highly preferred
  • Advanced technical skills and understanding of engineering principles, calculations, analysis methods and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, GIS, and hydraulic modeling software
  • Proficiency using the MS Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently, as part of a team and effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible
  • High level of personal integrity with a strong work ethic

 

Pay Range:  $70,000 - $90,000 per year

 

Work Location: Hybrid 1-2 days per week in the Los Angeles, Ontario, Chatsworth, or San Diego, CA office with occasional fielding visits during construction as needed.

 

Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship

 

Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check
