Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and program management firm based in California. We are seeking a Director of Proposal Pursuit to oversee proposal and pursuit management across Cordoba’s four sectors of business including Energy, Education-Facilities, Water, and Transportation. This role will provide leadership on a variety of proposal-related tasks including overseeing a staff dedicated to pursuit strategy including graphic designers, writers, and editors to developing corporate marketing processes and narrative. This is a highly networked role that requires the ability to lead a team that works under pressure and with challenging deadlines. Members of the pursuit management team are expected to be self-starters who possess excellent oral and written communication skills, develop creative solutions for growth challenges, are team players ready to support one another, and have a vested interest in Cordoba’s success.

Responsibilities

  • (70%) Manage, mentor, and develop proposal and graphics staff.
    • Assure adequate support for all offices and service groups and ensures equitable distribution of workload among the Sectors and staff.
    • Develop and implement marketing, pursuit, and proposal processes, systems, and policies along with sector leaders.
    • Coordinate and assist in preparing proposals by overseeing the work of the dedicated pursuit staff. Bears ultimate responsibility for quality of proposals and other deliverables.
    • Manage and monitor progress and adherence to proposal schedule.
    • Assist in the planning and development of presentations and interviews with sector leads.
    • Lead and support proposal development efforts during peak demand or overflow periods across all sectors.
  • (10%) Participate and play an active role in marketing-related activities within the company and sector leads, including:
    • Participate in client service plan review meetings, strategy meetings, pursuit kick-off meetings, etc.
    • Co-Lead go/no-go meetings and makes recommendations.
    • Present at corporate-level meetings and activities.
    • Participate in firm-wide initiatives regarding marketing systems and processes
    • Participate in and contribute to the development of company/sector strategic plans.
    • Follow the sectors overall implementation of marketing plans and strategies. 
    • Work with company leadership to develop and execute strategic business plans, comprehensive marketing initiatives, and client-focused strategies.15%) Supervisions of staff, including all related management of administrative requirements.
  • (5%) Work with the sector management team to analyze sales performance and make recommendations to enhance performance.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of sales goals, KPIs, lessons learned, resources, forecasting, and marketing budgets.
    • Understand division performance relative to these goals and budgets, and the interface with goals of the firm.
  • (15%) Supervision of staff, including all related management of administrative requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or another related field or demonstrated equivalency
  • 15+ years of industry experience managing large, complex A/E/C proposals and proposal teams
  • Experience with proposal marketing and the ability to support multi-sector strategies
  • Strong focus on developing and implementing Quality Control and Quality Assurance within the proposal process
  • Ability to work with and collaborate with a diverse staff, including senior leadership, technical staff, and project staff
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
  • Ability to quickly assess problems, identify solutions, and implement solutions
  • Ability to balance multiple concurrent assignments and shift priorities quickly
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in organizational, time management skills, and ability to remain flexible with shifting priorities
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Proficiency using Adobe products including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator

Pay Range:  $140,000-$180,000 per year

 

Work Location: Remote with occasional travel (California residents preferred)

 

Travel: Up to 10% travel to the Cordoba office locations

 

Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship
