Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and program management firm based in California. We are seeking a Project Manager I to join our Gas sector. The Project Manager I oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of gas utility projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs. This role involves managing scope, budget, and schedules, resolving complex issues, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes. The manager applies analytical thinking, independent judgment, and a strong understanding of cost management and corporate processes to guide project performance. Ideal candidates are proactive, collaborative, and skilled at navigating organizational systems to drive efficiency and results.

Responsibilities

  • Manage scope, cost, budget, and schedule changes, maintaining project activities by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues.
  • Lead monthly discipline reviews and progress evaluations, ensuring performance management, budget development, and policy/process approvals are aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the work of others to meet project and organizational objectives, providing consultation on navigating interdepartmental systems and processes.
  • Analyze and evaluate complex problems, considering a wide range of alternatives to determine the most effective solutions aligned with customer needs and project goals.
  • Manage complex tasks to accomplish objectives, regularly exercising independent judgment and making informed recommendations.
  • Continuously seek professional resolutions to conflicts and improvement opportunities in efficiency and performance.
  • Utilize a fundamental understanding of cost management and corporate accounting reports to support financial oversight and decision-making.
  • Develop goals and objectives based on client requirements, demonstrating customer focus through strategic planning and departmental alignment.
  • Apply job-specific expertise to contribute to organizational objectives, independently making decisions and taking responsibility for actions, outcomes, and results.
  • Seek advice and perspectives from internal and external sources to enhance decision-making and project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent Project Engineering experience required
  • 2-5 years of Project Engineer and/or Project Manager experience related to gas pipeline and/or valve automation projects on gas transmission pipelines required
  • Masters degree in Engineering or MBA preferred
  • Professional Engineer license preferred
  • Experience managing a team and assigning work to team members
  • Ability to navigate the internal organizational procedures and can interpret policies/procedures
  • Ability to communicate mission, objectives and safety philosophy in decision making and supervising the work of others
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency using project management software, scheduling tools, and cost management/cost control tools
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite

Pay Range: $104,000 to $140,000 per year

 

Work Location: Hybrid 3-4 days per week in the Los Angeles, CA office

 

Travel: Up to 20% for field visits in the Southern California region

 

Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship

 

Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check
