Overview

Cordoba is seeking a Senior Project Manager to manage all aspects of transportation engineering projects, including managing project staff, scope, schedule, budget, and subconsultants. The role includes client communications and management, including securing repeat business and identifying opportunities for new business.  The candidate will possess skills and experience with a variety of transportation projects, including roadway, civil, transit, utilities, and active transportation with local municipalities, county, state, and transit clients. 

Responsibilities

  • Leads project teams, comprised of Cordoba staff and subconsultants, to successfully complete contract deliverables. 
  • Manages scope, schedule, budget, and quality of contract deliverables.
  • Actively engages and partners with company leadership to secure repeat business and identify new business opportunities.
  • Participates in proposals and interviews as a technical leader.
  • Provides project delivery oversight and accountability for assigned projects with a high degree of proficiency.
  • Effectively communicates project and technical approach to solving engineering challenges.
  • Provides ongoing mentoring, training, and support of internal technical team members. 
  • Maintains client and industry contacts and engages in professional industry organizations.
  • Engages in recruiting and retention activities. 
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • 15+ years’ experience performing professional engineering work
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Knowledge of overall transportation engineering processes and criteria (PS&E, PA/ED, Green Book, etc.)
  • Experience with reviewing multi-disciplinary project deliverables, including utilities, traffic devices, roadway design, survey and right-of-way, geotechnical, and other typical transportation engineering elements 
  • Principles and practices of civil engineering and its application to transportation projects and construction
  • Microsoft proficiency in Office, PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • Bluebeam proficiency in Revu and Studio Sessions
  • General knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D
  • Demonstrated knowledge and history of project management, including project metrics
  • Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation
  • Excellent verbal, graphical, and written communication skills with a variety of people and personalities

Preferred Experience: 

  • Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.
  • Experience in large transportation engineering programs.
  • Experience in large and complex utility relocations with multiple agencies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Other position information:

 

  • Salary Range: $145,000 - $225,000 per year.
  • Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA.
  • Work Environment: Hybrid with 3 days onsite at LA Metro Team office.
  • Travel: occasional, 5-10% locally within LA County area. Mileage reimbursement available.
  • Visa Sponsorship: not eligible for visa sponsorship
  • Physical Requirements: candidate must be able to lift 40 pounds.
