Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and program management firm based in California. We are seeking a Structural Engineer for an upcoming position with our Gas sector. The Structural Engineer prepares structural engineering designs, specifications, standards, studies, cost estimates and sound technical recommendations, in support of projects and tasks for Gas utility infrastructure. They are responsible for engineering solutions to solve problems for new facilities and repairs/modifications to existing facilities related to Gas transmission, distribution and substation systems. This role contributes to creating world class designs for the advancement and enhanced safety for the Gas utility industry.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the engineering designs and retrofits to existing gas transmission and distribution pipelines and substation facilities to enable the pipelines to be inspected using ILI tools which will verify pipeline integrity.
  • Responsible for providing engineering and technical support for the design structures across the gas utility systems.
  • Formulates civil/structural analysis and design calculation reports for pipe support, foundations, pipe-stress analyses, etc.
  • Prepares the design, illustration, revision, and presentation of technical drawings, reports, layouts, schematics, and specifications.
  • Reviews and approves pipeline project designs for compliance with applicable codes and standards, as well as ensures a constructible project.
  • Provides code interpretations and design guidance consistent with nationally recognized codes and standards.
  • Performs routine engineering analysis in determining scope, schedule, budget and resources needed.
  • Performs quality control reviews and responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
  • Provides technical support for various departments such as Engineering, Planning, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering may be substituted for one year of experience
  • 5+ years of Gas utility structural engineering experience required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure in California required
  • Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques, procedures and structural design codes (e.g., ASCE 113, CBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, IEEE 693)
  • Proficiency using engineering software programs such as RISA-3D, RISA FDN, HILTI, MFAD, RAM Connection, or IDEA StatiCa
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment
  • Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay Range: $105,000 - $140,000 per year

 

Work Location: Onsite in Los Angeles, CA

 

Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship

 

Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check
