Overview

The Energy / Sustainability Manager is responsible for guiding the development and execution of the District’s Energy and Sustainability Master Plan. This role ensures that all capital improvement projects comply with Title 24 regulations and integrate energy-efficient systems, renewable technologies, and sustainability best practices. The Manager collaborates with design teams and Program Managers to identify and implement cost-effective strategies that enhance building performance and long-term operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of the District’s Energy and Sustainability Master Plan
  • Ensure compliance with Title 24 and other relevant energy codes and standards
  • Integrate energy-efficient systems and renewable technologies into bond-funded projects
  • Promote sustainability best practices across facilities planning and operations
  • Collaborate with design teams and Program Managers to optimize building performance
  • Identify and apply cost-effective strategies for energy conservation and operational efficiency
  • Monitor and support participation in energy incentive programs (e.g., PWP, SCE, SoCalREN)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Sustainability
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in energy systems planning or sustainability design
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM - AEE) preferred
  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP - USGBC) Certification preferred
  • Title 24 and CalSHAPE compliance expertise 
  • Familiarity with regional energy incentive programs (PWP, SCE, SoCalREN) preferred

Pay Range: $160,000 - $190,000 per year

Location: Altadena, CA

Work Environment: Onsite
